Education Facilities Company Limited (herein after referred to as "EFCL") hereby invites suitably qualified companies, entities and individuals in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to express their interest to undertake Repair and Maintenance (Emergency) works within each of the Education Districts listed:

  • Caroni
  • Port of Spain and Environs
  • St. Patrick
  • Victoria
  • North Eastern
  • St. George East

Suitably qualified entities, firms and individuals are invited to indicate the district of choice, experience, qualifications and interest in providing one(1) or more of the categories of emergency works outlined in the "Request and Instructions".

ELIGIBILITY Submission of applications is open to all companies, entities and individuals registered in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Applicants are advised that an EFCL representative may visit their premises and seek verification of information submitted.

(GORTT) has identified Education as one of its major pillars for sustainable economic development, given that knowledge, information and human capital are the main economic assets of any advanced nation. GORTT has identified a series of activities deemed necessary to achieve its vision for Education. One of these activities is the e-CAL Laptop project.

The e-CAL Laptop project provides the nation’s students with a competitive edge in today’s global information society. A major component of this programme is the provision of a laptop to each child passing the SEA examination and entering secondary school. For the period 2010 to 2014, eighty seven thousand two hundred and fifty (87,250) laptops have been provided to students.

Notwithstanding the successful roll out of the e-CAL laptop program, some laptops have been rendered non-functional due to various hardware issues over time. The Ministry has thus taken the decision to conduct a comprehensive assessment and repair programme and has engaged the Education Facilities Company Limited to manage the tender process for the securing of the necessary services. Scope of Services

Ensure that all non-functioning e-CAL laptops which were distributed to students for the period 2011 to 2013 are collected at designated locations, diagnosed repaired and/or refurbished to full functionality and returned to the Ministry in a timely and cost effect manner..

The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, through the Ministry of Education, has agreed to the appointment of the Education Facilities Company Limited (EFCL) as executing agent for the procurement of textbooks under the Ministry's Textbook Loan Programme 2013/2014.

This tender covers the Supply and Delivery of textbooks for use in the Ministry's Textbook Rental/Loan Programme 2013/2014 at Primary and Secondary Schools in Trinidad.

Submission of tenders is open to all locally registered companies.

The Pre-Qualifcation document will be available for viewing and/or purchase from Wednesday August 7, 2013. Completed Pre-Qualification Documents may be submitted from Wednesday August 7th, 2013. Submissions may be made between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays except on Public Holidays at the Education Facilities Company Limited, Second Floor, Long Circular Place, 74 Long Circular Road, Maraval.

The Education Facilities Company Limited (EFCL) is a Government owned limited liability company which was formed to implement assigned projects on behalf of the Ministry of Education. These projects include repairs and maintenance of government and government assisted Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Centres, Primary and Secondary Schools.

EFCL is seeking to update its Register of pre-qualified firms to undertake Repair and Maintenance Works within each of the Education Districts.

EFCL therefore continues to invite interested suitably qualified and experienced firms to submit completed pre-qualification documents indicating the District of choice, experience, qualications and interest in providing Installation, Designs, repair and maintenance works. NOTE: CONTRACTORS ALREADY REGISTERED (SINCE JUNE 2013) NEED NOT RE-APPLY.

Submission of applications is open to all local suitably qualified firms. Evaluation will be based on financial capacity, experience, manpower availability and plant and equipment.
